National Archaeological Museum in Athens

This is one of the largest and most important museums in the world and was recently restored. A visit here traces the history of western art, including over 11690 artefacts. It deserves more than one visit or a full day to explore. In particular you should see the Poseidon of Artemisio, the statue of Zeus, the head of Igea, Ephebe of Marathon, the stele of Egeso and gold mask of Agamemnon
