Odeon of Herod Atticus Athens

The Herodion, as it is called today, was built by Herod Tiberius Claudius the Attic, an important teacher and philosopher of his time, who had inherited a great legacy from his father. After the death of his wife Regilla, Herod Atticus decided to build in her memory a covered odeon for musical performances. Here the ancient Greeks would organize musical events and even today the Athens Festival takes place here. Everyone can enjoy its beauty and its magical atmosphere during a quiet morning walk along the road that leads to the Acropolis.
